3 Easy activities with your IKEA flisat table

3 Easy activities with your IKEA flisat table

If you've clicked on this post then I'm going to assume you've bought the Ikea Flisat table with the Trofast inserts and if you're like me then you immediately want to find all the activities you can start doing right now. There's a reason that so many people rave about this table, its versatility is insane and the activities you can do with it really are endless. But for now I'm going to give you just 3 little set ups that you can do using things most people have around the house and they literally take minutes to do.

1.  Cupcake/muffin tray ball sorting

This one is probably my favourite because it really is so simple but so entertaining for little hands. Most cupcake trays fit perfectly into the Trofast tub so it wont move around and fall out. Fill the opposite tub with some ball pit balls and let them pop the balls into each cupcake hole and back again, honestly my son LOVES doing this! As they get older you could also put little coloured stickers on the bottom of the cupcake tray and try to encourage them to put the correct colour balls into the matching hole!

2. Lollipop stick drop

This is a little activity I used to do before I had the Flisat table but doing it with the table really does make it so much easier. They can move the lollipop sticks from the Trofast tub down the cardboard tubes and I put another tub underneath the table to catch them all (mainly to stop our dog stealing them as they drop down). Simply masking tape the tubes to the end of the table, you can tape them at different heights and use different length tubes to make it more interesting. Similar to the first activity it can easily be adapted to slightly older children by adding some colour to the tubes and using coloured lollipop sticks to sort the correct colours into the matching tubes.

3. DIY baby safe sand

If you've already started gathering ideas for activities with your Flisat table you will definitely have seen how great they are for messy/sensory play with all sorts of baby safe items. One of my favourites is making baby safe sand, my little one loves pushing his cars in it and scooping it around. Just pop some oats, cheerios or any choice of cereal usually works into a small blender and just whizz it up to your desired texture! If you haven't got a blender then you can put them into a zip lock bag and give them a good bash with a rolling pin but this will take a lot longer to make a good amount of play sand.

These are all fairly simple ideas but when I first got my Flisat table that's exactly what I wanted. Easy, quick to set up and not going to cost me much to put together!
